Websites for Event Photographers

If you are a photographer of events you need a website. It’s monumentally important! You can’t easily sell images without one.

photoservewebstore

There are many different photography website services available. What makes ours different and better? PhotoServe was created for event photography by a seasoned event photographer. Don’t worry a developer built the system but the experienced event photographer helped designed all the parts that are important for selling digital images at shows, events, rodeos, sporting events, and etc. Our system helps take care of the hard stuff - taxes, applying discounts, choosing how you want to be paid, uploading photos quickly, having a stable and secure website, easy to use site, and more! We couldn’t find a platform that worked well for event photography so we built one and want other event photographers to succeed with it!

If you are an event photographer you understand that what you do is different from wedding or family sessions. You are dealing in large volumes of images with a large customer base. Images need to be categorised, public, and easy to view so attendees of events can easily find and purchase them.

Checklist to create a PhotoServe Website and Store

  1. Choose a business name: it can be as simple as Your Name Photography.
  2. Choose a website colour: if you don’t have a colour preference PhotoServe will set you up with a default colour.
  3. Add information about your business: this can include what type of photography you specialize in (sport, livestock, etc), where you provide services (town(s), state(s), country), social media accounts, contact info, etc.
  4. Set up payment: PhotoServe uses Stripe, a secure payment processing service. You will be guided through what you need (bank info, address, etc). PhotoServe does not store this information, only Stripe. Stripe charges around 2.9% + C$0.30 per transaction. You are only charged on sales. This is a very competitive rate for payment processing, much lower than you’d expect to pay if using your banks payment service. Stripe provides options for discounts, coupons, currencies, payment scheduling, analytics, taxes and more.
  5. Decide on your pricing: try to keep it simple. If you can have one price for each image your customers will be able to understand your site better. You can add a discount structure and different price structures as it makes sense for your business. When deciding on your price take into account platform and payment processing fees.
  6. Add images: upload a few photos to test how it is done. Add folders as you work events.
  7. Share: your new webstore store on your social media platforms.
  8. Connect your PhotoServe site to your other website: for example, if you have a Wix or Wordpress site, connect your PhotoServe site as a store link. This will be done through your website and may or may not be an option. PhotoServe is designed to be the only website you need, a second website is not required.

That’s it, now you can focus on booking photography jobs and upload your images to sell! Good luck on your business, we will be here to cheer you on.
